I was going to write a little introduction for this video, but the video says it all.

I’m getting ready to run out the door to Ripley-Grier Studios for an audition for a show called First Day. I know I’m posting about this a little late… I’ll admit, this audition was overshadowed by Avenue Q, but I’ll fill you in on all the details when I get back. Oh — before I forget! Some girls I met at the Beer Garden two nights ago told me about an opening at their restaurant, so I’m looking into that too. Because I need a job!

If you’ve been following the blog then you also know that I typically don’t knock auditions out of the park. But I was so prepared and I was so ready to show them what I had been working on. There’s a lot to talk about, and I will talk about it, but right now I just have time for a real quick post. I’m on my way to meet with Ron Ross at Kerin-Goldberg Associates. I’m trying to get an agent. I’ll talk about that, Avenue Q, and some more stuff later but right now I have to go!

I’m going back to Chelsea Studios for my third round of Avenue Q auditions today at noon — wish me luck!

Since my audition last Friday, I’ve done almost nothing but prepare for my upcoming callback. I spend at least 12 hours a day working on this. Sometimes I’m up til 4:30 a.m. just to make sure I get my time in. Last night I went to bed early. At 3:30. I had to. My brain just stopped working. I’m burning out. Read the rest of this entry »

Alright. Avenue Q. Let’s get the whole story.

My friend Jon told me about the EPA they were holding June 9. We didn’t really think they were casting from them, and our former director, Michael Legg, knew the casting associate, Adam Caldwell, who was running the auditions. We thought, hey, this is great, it’s gonna be so low key, no pressure. But I really wasn’t feeling prepared the night before the audition, and instead of going in there and bombing I decided to just sit the whole thing out.
