You know that moment when you know something bad is about to happen. You know it’s about to happen because everything slows down and turns black and white. It’s kind of like having an out of body experience. That’s how it went down right before I dropped my iPhone. I wanted to know what time it was, and even though I was sitting in front of my computer with a clock that works just fine, I reached for my phone. I could already see it falling before the phone was even in my hands. But did I stop? Heh, no. CRASH! Dammit. SHATTER! Wait, what..?

Three days ago I dropped my iPhone and shattered the screen. Along with all my hopes and dreams.

I got online today and googled “dropped iPhones” and found a great site called iPhone Matters. It’s pretty much everything iPhone. I found a post called The Dropped iPhone Support Group where people share stories about dropping their iPhones. It’s odd, but it’s comforting to know that I’m not alone. I swear, you just don’t know what it’s like to drop your iPhone until you’ve actually done it. Do you watch Family Guy? I feel like Brian in that episode when we finds out he has a son (spark your memory?). There’s a scene later in the Drunken Clam when he’s freaking out about Dylan falling out of a window or something.

Anyway, the amazing thing is that it still works. But one more hiccup like that might actually knock the glass right off my phone. I visited the Apple store and AT&T, but the best they can do for me is a $199 replacement. There’s no telling how long I’m gonna have to wait for the replacement, but I don’t have many options. But that’s a lot of money that I really can’t afford to spend right now.
